It roars, then leaps at you and bites you, lifting you off the ground. It's briefly distracted by a parrot flying past, and drops you again. You crawl off into the undergrowth, bleeding. You lie there until sunset, in no condition to move. Then you hear people approaching. It's a search party from the village! They carry you back, saving your life.
